  • 1.5 lbs beef flank steak (or chuck roast, cubed)
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • Optional: 1 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef thinly or cube if using chuck. Chop the broccoli into florets.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, garlic, and ginger.
  3. Place sliced beef in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over it to coat thoroughly. Add broccoli on top.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until beef is tender.
  5. For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with cold water and add to the slow cooker in the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  6. Serve over cooked rice and garnish with sesame seeds.
