  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 cups canned pumpkin
  • ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup applesauce or canola oil
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9×5 loaf pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and pumpkin pie spice.
  3. In another bowl, mix canned pumpkin, brown sugar, granulated sugar, applesauce (or oil), eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just mixed; do not overmix.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and divide the batter between the prepared loaf pans. Sprinkle reserved mini chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool before slicing.
